Man shoots Qnet staff for picking his mangos in Suhum

A man believed to be in his 50s, identified as Oto Acquah, has reported himself to the Suhum Police Station for shooting a staff of Qnet, who had reportedly entered his compound to pick some mangos. The incident happened on Saturday night around 11:30 pm at Kwasi Larbi, a suburb of the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region.

According to reports, the deceased and some colleagues had gone to the suspect’s compound to pick some mangos. The suspect, who has a reputation for being aggressive towards anyone who picked his mangos, saw the victim picking the fruits at night and went to pick up his AK47 gun from his room and shot him dead.

The victim died instantly, and his colleagues who were with him at the time reportedly fled the scene. The suspect allegedly kept the body in his compound late into the night before reporting the incident to the police.

The police arrived at the suspect’s house to convey the body, and the suspect is currently in police custody, assisting in the investigation.

All in all, the incident highlights the need for proper conflict resolution mechanisms in communities to prevent such unfortunate incidents. The police must also ensure that justice is served in this case, and the suspect faces the full consequences of his actions. It is important for individuals to respect each other’s property and not resort to violence as a means of conflict resolution.
