The Position

You’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining farm equipment, undertaking general labour tasks, and on occasion operating boom spray units. Training will be provided to the successful applicant.

  • Long-term casual position with fulltime hours, during peak season.
  • Immediate start
  • Operate tractor with various implements
  • Manual labouring tasks such as net installing/removal, post driving, fencing and other manual tasks may be required
  • Perform regular checks and preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery as directed
  • Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ensure all equipment is regularly washed down and cleaned according to set standards
  • Work flexible shifts, workload and weather dependent

Key Attributes to be Successful in this Role

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A current driver’s license
  • Tractor/heavy machinery experience
  • Forklift ticket, MR truck license, bobcat/excavator experience an advantage
  • Agricultural or Horticultural experience desired but not essential
  • Good communication skills
  • Good record keeping
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and skills would be advantageous
  • The ability to work well as a team
  • The enthusiasm to learn new skills
  • A great understanding of English (written and spoken)
  • Basic computer/digital technology skills
  • Good planning and time management to ensure set tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to follow direction
  • Flexible to work some weekends or nights when required
