From July 24, the Local Government Ministry will start its home travel survey

A household travel survey will be conducted by the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development in 29 MMDAs (Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies) within the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) to learn more about people’s transportation preferences and difficulties.

About 7,500 families in the Greater Accra, Central, and Eastern Regions will be included in the survey, which will run from July 24 to September 30, 2023.

The Ministry claims that the information gathered would help shape policy decisions for developing efficient national transport systems, whether they are public or private.

Director of Human Resources Kwabena Denkyira told the media while speaking to the media on behalf of the sector minister that the poll would include more than 7,000 families from all of the MMDAs in the nation.

“The poll will also focus on 7,500 households spread across Ghana’s 29 MMDAs, including Greater Accra, the Eastern region, and the Central region. To guarantee both the anonymity of respondents and the statistical validity of the data, we will use industry-standard data collection tools.

“Included in the Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies are Accra, Tema, and La Nkwantanang-Madina, Ashaiman, Kpone Katamanso, Tema West, Ga West, Ga Central, Ga East, Ga South, La Dade-kotopon, Ayawaso North, Ledzokuku, Krowor, Korle klottey,Nsawam Adogyiri, Weija Gbawe, Gomoa East, Ayawaso East, Ayawaso Central, Okaikoi North, Adenta, Nsawam Adogyiri Awutu Senya East district assemblies,” he said.

The Ministry’s Director of Human Resources provided additional information on the questionnaires that would be sent.
