Nana Agyenim Boateng, the Produce Buying Company’s (PBC) former CEO, has refuted accusations that he was to blame for the company’s demise.

He said that he had given thorough passing over notes and documentation of his work completed throughout his term, and he tasked the present management with producing evidence that he had improperly handled the business.

On Wednesday’s Dwaso Nsem morning show on Adom FM, he announced this.

According to Mr. Boateng, PBC had continuously done well between 2013 and 2017, and the losses started to happen following his tenure.

In addition, he refuted the assertion made by the present administration that his administration left a debt of GHC 700 million, claiming that it was only GHC 289 million.

“From 2013 14 to 2016 17 that we handed over, PBC consistently was doing 32 to 30.8 per cent. So in between was when we carried on this mega business of the golden beam and the PBC share…

“In between this time is where we’re making all these, though we were under construction, we handled it well. In 2016/17 season it was 30.8 per cent,” Mr Boateng emphasized.

Mr. Boateng emphasized his willingness to participate in a discussion and give any authority that asked for them his turning over notes.

He emphasized that PBC’s goodwill is still strong and encouraged the President and Minister of Agriculture to act to save the firm from collapsing.

When the CPC was first established in 1981, COCOBOD owned it entirely. Later, it was sold off and listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange, with 94.1% ownership held by the Ministry of Finance, Social Security, and National Insurance Trust.
