Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy met with Mohammed Kudus, midfielder for Dutch club Ajax, in Amsterdam. The pair were interviewed by the club’s media team, where Kudus revealed his appreciation for Stonebwoy’s music.
Kudus, who often plays Stonebwoy’s music in the Ajax dressing room, described the songs as spiritual and impactful. “His songs are spiritual to me… I just relate [to the songs] spiritually and most of it on how it can have an impact on me… [Music] is all around the work I do so I need to listen to the right stuff and the stuff that can really touch me and uplift my soul in the work I do,” he said.
Stonebwoy expressed his gratitude for Kudus’ support in promoting his music outside of Ghana. The footballer has been playing Stonebwoy’s songs frequently, particularly during his rehabilitation period when he was recovering from injury.
Kudus emphasized the role music plays in his life as a footballer, particularly during travel and pre-game preparations. “80 per cent of our football life journey depends on music… [Music] is all around the work I do so I need to listen to the right stuff and the stuff that can really touch me and uplift my soul in the work I do,” he said.
