The Minority Leader in Parliament declares that his group would only present their petition to the Governor of the Bank of Ghana as the #OccupyBoG demonstration gets underway.

If the boss, Dr. Ernest Addison, does not agree to be served, the gang is prepared to remain inside the Central Bank for as long as they can, according to Cassiel Ato Forson.

He said this on Tuesday, October 3, as the protest calling for the resignation of the governor of the Bank of Ghana and his two deputy governors began at Obra Spot in Accra.

The service must let the leadership to continue the march to the BoG office even if it acknowledges that the rally will follow the police-recommended path.

“He [Ernest Addison] should be the one to receive it. No one else. We are not handing over the petition to any other person. Not his deputies but he himself,” he told JoyNews’ Maxwel Agbagba.

The team will want to read the paper to the BoG chief again, he continued.

“We want him to hear him and give him the justification why it is in his own interest and the interest of the people of Ghana for him to say ‘bye bye’ to the central bank” Mr. Forson said.

They are making this demand in response to what they called central bank mismanagement that led to significant losses and negatively impacted the Ghanaian economy.
