The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expressed its commitment to resolving all outstanding issues in four constituencies within the Ashanti Region. These issues prevented delegates from participating in the recent presidential and parliamentary primaries in the Manhyia South Constituency. The affected constituencies, which also include Fomena, Adansi Asokwa, and Mampong, only took part in the presidential elections.

The NDC has assured party members and supporters that it will take the necessary steps to conduct internal elections in these constituencies before the end of 2023. The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Augustus Andrews Nana Kwasi, emphasized the significance of the Ashanti Region in the upcoming 2024 general elections. He stated that the NDC’s early primaries demonstrate their determination to secure victory and urged the people of Manhyia South and other affected areas to remain patient as the issues are resolved.

Chairman Nana Kwasi reaffirmed the party’s commitment to winning the Ashanti Region and garnering maximum votes to support former President John Mahama’s bid for the presidency. He expressed confidence that the NDC would gain more seats and asserted that the Ashanti Region would play a crucial role in determining the election’s outcome.

For the most part, the NDC’s dedication to resolving outstanding issues in the Ashanti Region showcases its commitment to conducting transparent and inclusive internal elections. The party’s focus on addressing these concerns reflects its determination to strengthen its position in the region and enhance its chances of success in the 2024 general elections. All in all, the NDC’s efforts to overcome these challenges demonstrate its commitment to democratic processes and its pursuit of political power in Ghana.
