Following a sophisticated intelligence operation, the arrests were made at their hiding place.

Col. Antwi Awua Darkwa, the Commanding Officer of the Airborne Force at Barwah Barracks in Tamale, had just urged several groups in the Upper East Region to put down their guns and advance peace when the attack took place.

Col. Darkwa also urged restraint in the long-running conflict between the Mamprusi and Pusasi populations.

The suspects’ detention is a result of efforts to uphold law and order and guarantee the safety of locals.

The military taskforce’s intervention seeks to prevent more bloodshed and provide the local populace a sense of security.
