Haruna Iddrisu: It’s Time for John Mahama to Rescue Ghana’s Economy

aruna Iddrisu, the Member of Parliament for Tamale South, has called on former President John Dramani Mahama to take action to save Ghana’s struggling economy. Speaking at a campaign rally for Mahama in Tamale South on May 8, Iddrisu urged Mahama to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and protect the jobs and investments of the people. He stated that it was Mahama’s time to rescue Ghana’s economy and inspire hope among the youth.

Iddrisu’s comments come at a time when Ghana’s economy is struggling due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The country has also been hit hard by rising inflation, high public debt, and a depreciating currency. For the most part, businesses and households have been struggling to stay afloat, with many people losing their jobs and struggling to make ends meet.

During his campaign rally, Mahama promised to reward women organizers of the NDC who meet the target set for them in the 2024 general elections. He stated that they would be given contracts under the National School Feeding programme to cook for school children. Additionally, he promised that young people in the NDC would benefit from recruitment into the Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, and the Ghana Immigration Service.

Mahama also pledged to ensure that everyone in the country received their fair share of everything the country has to offer. He promised to recruit young people to go into the Armed Forces, Police, Immigration, Prison Service, and Fire Service. He stated that NDC women organizers also know how to cook and would be recruited to cook for primary school children under the school feeding program.

In summary, Haruna Iddrisu has called on former President John Dramani Mahama to save Ghana’s economy and inspire hope among the youth. Mahama, in response, promised to reward women organizers of the NDC and recruit young people into the country’s security services. He also pledged to ensure that everyone in the country received their fair share of everything the country has to offer.
