Ghanaian-British musician Fuse ODG has advised the music industry in Ghana to focus on their craft and not seek validation outside the country. Speaking on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning, he stated that Ghana has a lot of talent in the music industry and should not be distracted by external validation.

“There are certain conversations that I feel it’s not necessary, we need to just continue working, just keep our heads down and just keep pushing and keep working, that’s what we need to do as an industry,” he said.

Fuse ODG, who is based in the UK, also urged the industry to unite and build trust amongst themselves, which could enhance their networking skills. “I’ve also said we need to spend more time together because that’s how we’re able to build trust amongst each other, so then we’re able to share networks,” he added.

Fuse ODG has collaborated with Ghanaian musician Leftizzle to release a new song titled “Kiki,” which is available on all digital platforms.

In the interview, Fuse ODG also spoke about his desire to help Ghanaian music rise to greater heights, stating that he has set up a music school in Akosombo to train upcoming musicians in the country. “We’re just trying to make sure that we create opportunities for the youth and also improve the quality of music that is being put out,” he said.

The award-winning musician is known for his fusion of Afrobeats, rap, and R&B and has worked with international musicians such as Ed Sheeran, Major Lazer, and Sean Paul.
