At the event, the wife of the Vice President, Samira Bawumia, advised the writers not to underestimate the value of writing in today’s job market. She highlighted that writing provides opportunities for self-employment and job creation, and encourages writers to continue reading and writing. She added that people who read and write engage their imaginations, opening up endless possibilities as the most successful generation are those whose ideas solve problems within their communities or the world.

The Samira Bawumia Literature Prize Awards has been a valuable platform for recognizing and celebrating Ghanaian writers. It is an opportunity to showcase their talents and provides them with the motivation to improve their writing skills. It is expected that the recognition given to these talented writers will inspire others to take up writing as a career and create more opportunities for Ghanaian writers in the future.
