Kwaku Marfo, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), has accused the current administration of mismanaging the economy. In an interview with Hello FM on May 9, 2023, Marfo expressed his dissatisfaction with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s governance style, suggesting that even his illiterate mother could govern the country more effectively.

Marfo urged Ghanaians to consider voting for the LPG in the upcoming 2024 elections, to avoid making any further voting mistakes. He stated that from 2016 to 2020, things were better, but the governance that has unfolded since then has been alarming.

The LPG chairman emphasized the hardships faced by ordinary Ghanaians and the difficult living conditions prevailing in the country. He questioned whether the current state of affairs aligns with former President John Agyekum Kufour’s governance principles, suggesting that Ghana should not be suffering, considering its abundance of natural resources such as diamonds, gold, timber, and bauxite.

Marfo believes that Ghanaians will not make any mistakes by voting for the LPG’s Kofi Akpaloo in 2024. He highlighted his concerns about the state of affairs under the NPP-led administration and claimed that although there was some improvement between 2016 and 2020, the governance since then has been alarming.

For the most part, Marfo’s concerns align with those of many Ghanaians who are struggling to make ends meet. The country’s economic situation has been challenging, with inflation and high taxes causing hardships for the average Ghanaian. The LPG chairman’s call for a change in leadership is not unfounded, as many people are looking for an alternative to the current administration.

In a nutshell, the LPG Chairman has accused the current administration of mismanaging the economy and urged Ghanaians to vote for the LPG’s Kofi Akpaloo in the upcoming 2024 elections.
