John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, has urged Ghanaians, particularly the youth, to vote carefully in the 2024 general elections.

He called the 2024 elections the most important in Ghana’s history and urged voters to vote massively for the NDC.

“It will determine whether we continue on the slippery path of fake promises, or we take a new trajectory and have people who will come and serve with integrity and patriotism so that we can get our country out of the economic crisis in which it is,” the former President said.

Mr. Mahama made the remarks while speaking to chiefs and residents of Ketu North Municipality during this year’s Penyi Nugoryiza durbar.

He lamented Ghana’s current economic predicament, claiming that the current administration had inflicted “severe hardships” on residents.

Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, Member of Parliament for Ketu North, who attended the ceremony, urged supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to “repent” and join the NDC.

“Mahama is coming to correct all the wrongs of the NPP so we can have our lives back,” Dr Avedzi said.

Mr Edem Agbana, NDC parliamentary candidate for Ketu North, stated that the existing government had failed the youth, the majority of whom were unemployed.

To alleviate their anxiety, he urged constituents to guarantee that the NDC returns to power after the 2024 elections.

At the occasion, Mr. Mahama was also appointed Development Chief with the title ‘Togbi Dunenyo |, the Nugoryifia.
