The sad collapse of a health center that was under construction in a village inside the Ga South Municipality will be thoroughly investigated, the Kasoa Municipal Fire Command has declared.

One person lost their life when the building collapsed, while four others had their legs severely broken.

Sadly, a second nurse was identified as having passed away on Wednesday morning, raising the total number of fatalities to two, according to Kofi Adjei of Adom News.

According to witnesses on the site, the building fell as it started to rain heavily, which raises questions about the construction’s usage of high-quality materials.

Some others hypothesized that inferior materials could have contributed to the building’s collapse.

The Municipal Fire Commander in Kasoa, DO3 Mercel Kwami Avadu, emphasized the significance of a comprehensive investigation in light of these worries.

He admitted that the construction of the building created questions since it seemed to have been built using subpar materials, giving it a feeling of being improvised or unstable. The Fire Commander made it clear, nonetheless, that this observation alone is insufficient to pinpoint the reason for the collapse or place responsibility.

He pointed out that the inquiry would look at a number of things, including the caliber of the building materials used, the credentials of the engineer in charge of the project, and if the right construction processes were followed.

“These aspects are essential in determining whether the collapse resulted from shoddy workmanship or if all necessary measures were taken during the building process,” he added.
