According to a recent World Bank Report, paying for school fees is causing financial hardship for many families in sub-Saharan Africa, which is impeding their ability to send their children to school.

Additionally, it notes that 29% of adults are more anxious about paying school fees than other monthly payments, such as medical costs, and that 54% of adults are very concerned about paying for their children’s education.

The Global Findex Database for 2022 report is the Bank’s undisputed source of information on the accessibility of financial services around the world, including payments, savings, and borrowing.

Africa has the greatest rates of school exclusion among the six developing areas of the world, which is a result of economic difficulties. The burden of worry falls primarily on women because men are economically more powerful in Africa than women are.

According to the research, 31 percent of women cited money as their top financial concern, compared to 26 percent of men.
