Couple seriously injured in accident involving 4 cars on Kasoa-Cape Coast highway
A couple has suffered significant injuries as a consequence of a collision involving four automobiles that happened at Tonisco Junction, which is close to Gomoa Potsin Junction on the Kasoa-Cape Coast route in the Central Region.
The collision involved a Toyota Corolla with the license plate AS 3677-14, a Honda Pilot with the plate GT 8111-10, a Tipper automobile, and a sprinter Benz bus.
According to eyewitness testimony, the Toyota Corolla’s driver was going from Accra to Winneba while the other three vehicles were going the other way, from Winneba to Accra.
The collisions happened after the driver of the Toyota Corolla swerved out of his lane and hit the tipper car’s back tire.
The pair in the Toyota Corolla received critical wounds as a consequence of the collision.
As soon as they arrived on the site, emergency personnel took the injured couple to the Potsin Polyclinic for medical attention.
Local police personnel from Potsin, Okyereko, and Gomoa Dominase were also there to help clear the road and control the situation.
The accident’s cause is being looked into.
In the meanwhile, locals have urged the Ghana Highway Authority to build speed ramps on the highway to reduce accidents, stop fatalities, and stop property damage.
