Bechem United Coach, Kassim Mingle, is feeling confident about his team’s chances of winning the Ghana Premier League title following their 1-0 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak on Saturday. The game, played at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, saw Hafiz Wontah Konkoni score the only goal of the match with a well-taken penalty in the first half.

The victory moves The Hunters to second place on the league standings, just three points behind leaders Aduana Stars, who have a game in hand against Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

Speaking to StarTimes after the match, Mingle expressed his optimism about Bechem United’s chances of winning the league title, saying, “Very important for us to come back in contention for the league title. Of course, yes we are in contention for the league title. We’ve beaten the former champions. We beat Kotoko, we beat Hearts of Oak, we beat Medeama. All those above us we’ve beaten all of them so we can win.”

Mingle also praised his team for their hard work and dedication, adding that they had played according to the system they had adopted for the match. He acknowledged that they could have scored more goals in the game but was happy with the crucial three points.

“All in all, the victory against Hearts of Oak has put us in a good position in the league table. We have shown that we can beat the top teams, and that gives us confidence going forward. Our focus now is on the next game against King Faisal, and we will take it one game at a time,” Mingle said.

Bechem United’s next game is away to King Faisal on April 26, and Mingle will be hoping that his team can continue their winning form to keep their title hopes alive.
