Sammy Gyamfi Warns NPP Against Election Rigging in 2024

NDC Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, has responded to comments made by Bryan Acheampong, the Minister of Food and Agriculture and NPP Member of Parliament for Abetifi, regarding the 2024 elections. Acheampong had stated that the NPP would do anything within its means to retain power and that the party had the “men” to quell any ill conduct by the NDC.

In response, Gyamfi emphasized that the sovereignty of Ghana lies with the people and not with any individual, especially someone who served only briefly as a low-ranking member of the US Air Force. He expressed confidence that the NDC would be well prepared for the 2024 elections and that the majority of the Ghanaian electorate would vote for change.

Gyamfi also warned that the NDC would not allow any repetition of the alleged misconduct during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election and the 2020 elections. He urged NDC supporters to ignore Acheampong’s “ludicrous tantrums.”

The comments by both Gyamfi and Acheampong are a reflection of the intense political rivalry between the NDC and NPP in Ghana. As the country approaches the 2024 elections, tensions are likely to increase, and both parties will be seeking to gain an advantage.

It is important that all political actors act with responsibility and respect for the democratic process. The people of Ghana have the right to choose their leaders freely and without interference, and it is the responsibility of all politicians to ensure that this process is upheld.
