Kennedy Agyapong, a Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has responded to recent claims made by another aspirant, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, regarding their contributions to the NPP since 1992. Agyapong, who is also a lawmaker representing Assin Central, has vehemently denied Agyepong’s suggestion that he had not recognized his contributions to the party.

In his response, Agyapong revealed that in 1992, he and Oppong Bio borrowed $3 million from CalBank to support the NPP when Adu Boahen was elected flagbearer of the party. He also disclosed that together with Dr. Konadu Apraku and Lawyer Kwadwo Afram Asiedu, they visited Adu Boahen in his bedroom, which Agyepong did not do as he did not support the NPP flagbearer.

While acknowledging Agyepong’s support for the party, Agyapong stressed that many others have contributed equally or even more to the success of the NPP than Agyepong. He expressed disappointment that Agyepong had failed to recognize the contributions of others to his own election as the General Secretary of the NPP, despite their support for him.

Agyapong’s response emphasizes the need for unity and recognition of contributions made by all party members towards the growth and success of the NPP. It is crucial to acknowledge the efforts of all party members, whether big or small, in ensuring the continued success of the party. Failure to recognize such contributions could lead to internal conflicts and division within the party.

In a nutshell, Kennedy Agyapong has disputed Kwabena Agyei Agyepong’s claims regarding unrecognized contributions to the NPP. He has highlighted the need for unity and recognition of contributions made by all party members towards the success of the NPP. It is crucial to acknowledge the efforts of all party members to ensure the party’s continued success and avoid internal conflicts.
