Great Olympics: Agyemang-Badu caused player revolt by being selective in matches, claims Communications Director

Great Olympics Communications Director, Saint Osei, has accused former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu of causing a player revolt by being selective in the matches he wanted to play. According to Saint Osei, Agyemang-Badu would pick and choose matches, with Kotoko being one of the games he wanted to play, which did not sit well with the rest of the team. This is in contrast to Badu’s claim earlier this year that he was forced out of the club by CEO Oloboi Commodore.

Despite the club’s ongoing struggles, Saint Osei remains optimistic about Great Olympics’ chances of survival in the Ghana Premier League season. Currently sitting in 16th place, the club has won only eight games out of 27 matches. They recently moved their home venue to the Sogakope Park to focus on their relegation battle, but have yet to see the results they desire, drawing 1-1 with Tamale City over the weekend.

Saint Osei, however, believes that the team can turn things around with seven games remaining. He acknowledges the challenging moments the team is going through but remains confident that they can overcome them. He believes that Great Olympics is not a relegation club and asks that the team not be labeled as such.

Yaw Preko was sacked as coach in February, and young coach Bismarck Kobby Mensah took over, but the team still struggled to find its form. The team now faces stiff competition from Karela United, Legon Cities, Tamale City, and others in the battle for survival. On Thursday, Great Olympics will face Asante Kotoko at their newly adopted stadium, Sogakpe Park in the Volta region.

All in all, Great Olympics’ struggles continue as they fight to avoid relegation in the Ghana Premier League. While Communications Director Saint Osei remains optimistic, the team’s performances on the pitch will ultimately determine their fate. The accusations made against Agyemang-Badu’s conduct could shed some light on the team’s locker room dynamics and may be something to keep an eye on as the season progresses.
