John Mahama receives GH 405K from NDC Greater Accra Constituency Chairmen.

Constituency John Dramani Mahama, a former president and the NDC’s nominee for flagbearer, received a check for GH 405,000 from the Greater Accra Area chairmen of the National Democratic Party (NDC).

Announcing this on Facebook, Builsa South Member of Parliament Dr. Clement Apaak stated that the action was taken to publicly indicate their support and endorsement of John Mahama as the party’s new flagbearer.

As part of their commitment as promised, the Greater Accra constituency chairmen handed JM a check for 405,000 Ghana cedis on March 17. Good work, chairmen! The triumph train is already in motion for 2024. He said, “Together, we CAN Build THE GHANA WE WANT.

The NDC chairmen paid a courtesy visit to the late president John Dramani Mahama on February 22, 2023, shortly after the party announced the specifics and procedures governing the presidential and parliamentary primaries of the NDC. They pleaded with him to lead the NDC against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general elections in 2024.

The Greater Accra Chairmen caucus, led by Isaac Lamptey, the constituency chairman of Dome Kwabenya, promised to fund and pay the GH500,000 filing fee for Mr. Mahama to participate in the primary elections in order to solidify their support and endorsement.

Also, these Chairmen urged all party members to unite as the NDC and work as a team to achieve the party’s triumph in December 2024.

As of yet, four people have taken up nomination forms to run in the May 13, 2023, National Democratic Congress flagbearership election.

The party on February 24, 2023, ended the period during which candidates for president could pick up nomination papers.

Former president John Dramani Mahama, ex-finance minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, ex-mayor of Kumasi Kojo Bonsu, and businessman Ernest Kwaku Krobea are the four people who have so far picked up the forms.
