Former Ghanaian Minister Hanna Tetteh Recognized for Supporting Ethiopia Peace Process

Former Ghanaian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hanna Serwaa Tetteh, has been recognized for her role in supporting the peace process in Ethiopia. Ms. Tetteh currently serves as the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa.

In a tweet on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, Ms. Tetteh expressed her gratitude to Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed Ali, for presenting her with a certificate of recognition. The certificate acknowledged her efforts in promoting peace and reconciliation in Ethiopia. Ms. Tetteh, however, stressed that the certificate is not just for her, but for the entire UN family in Ethiopia.

Ms. Tetteh served as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU). Before that, she was the Director General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi.

She commended the Ethiopian government and political stakeholders for their commitment to the peace process, describing the country as beautiful. She wished them every success in their efforts.
