Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications director Yaw Adomako Baafi has denied a claim made by Ken Agyapong, one of the party’s flagbearer candidates, saying Ken once handed him money so he could visit the hospital when he was ill.
He said that Ken only provided him with transport to and from Parliament and lunch when he was ill.
Adomako Baafi also said that while it is true that the flagbearer candidate gave him a car, the automobile was one of the cars he (Ken) donated to members of the NPP who were aiding in the NPP campaign for the 2016 elections, according to an interview he conducted on Wontumi TV on Wednesday, June 6, 2023.
“It’s not true that he provided me money to go to the hospital, as he said… One thing I like about my brother Kennedy Agyapong is that he offered me a ride in his car when I was ill and had bandages all over my legs while others disregarded me.
He once picked me up from Parliament, drove me to Golden Tulip, and then arranged for us to have dinner. Therefore, I ask my brother since he never provided me money to visit the hospital, the man in Twi remarked.
He said, “It is true that he provided me a car in 2016 to use for the party’s campaign. Stephen Amoah and a few other individuals also received automobiles from him, so I wasn’t the only one to receive one. So why is he only bringing up my name?
According to Ken Agyapong
Kennedy Agyapong, a presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused the party’s former communications director Yaw Adomako Baafi of misleading party members.
Speaking to NPP members in the Agortime Ziofe Constituency in the Volta Region over the weekend, Agyapong accused Baafi of telling the party’s members lies on purpose in order to win their support for the candidate he is endorsing for the position of NPP flagbearer.
He claimed to have purchased a car for the former NPP national executive and even given him money to travel to the hospital when he was ill, but now, due to politics, he is spreading falsehoods.
The speaker said, “You Adomako Baafi… I gave you a Honda pickup before to the 2016 election. I gave him money to go to the hospital when he was unwell, and now he’s supporting a politician and spreading falsehoods,” he added.
