A prominent NPP member has accused former Northern Regional Chairman Bugri Naabu of participating in a conspiracy to assassinate Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the IGP, for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The NPP expert, according to Frances Essiam, set himself up.
“The tapes keep surfacing consistently. However, Bugri set himself up for this. Just as he recorded others, it was only a matter of time before he was recorded too, especially when dealing with intelligence officers. This is why we keep seeing new tapes, and I believe Bugri underestimated the police officers” she said on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Friday.
The scandal surrounding Mr. Naabu has certain police personnel accused. The situation has been exacerbated by a second video in which he claimed to work for the police.
The subject is presently under examination by a legislative committee, and the Police Service is rumored to have begun its own inquiries.
Mr. Naabu, according to Madam Essiam, the former CEO of the Ghana Cylinder Manufacturing Company Limited, “shot himself in the foot.”
She asserted that the previous chairman of the NPP’s Northern Region, who has a history of listening in on talks to defame others, had himself entangled in his own web.
Despite this, Frances Essiam proposed that the Police Council look into the situation rather than Parliament.
