A fetish priest named Solomon Mbalegon, 62, is accused of killing his 25-year-old junior wife, Madam Nakoli Mbalegon, and then killing himself out of adultery.
‘Okomfo’ Solomon, commonly known as Mr. Mbalegon, is accused of killing Mad. Mbalegon on Thursday night at their house in Parambo, a neighborhood of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.
The local assemblyman, Mr. Yussif Sulemana, confirmed the event to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), saying that Mr. Mbalegon believed his wife had been having extramarital encounters with local males.
He said that there was a misunderstanding between them and that as a result, the male fatally stabbed the woman before also killing himself.
Residents did not anticipate that Mr. Mbalegon could execute such “a heinous act,” according to Mr. Sulemana, who said that the occurrence had caused shock and outrage in the neighborhood.
In order to prevent the loss of life, he consequently encouraged the people to proceed and handle marital matters of this sort with caution.
Mr. Sulemana stated that the remains had been sent to the St. Mathias Catholic Hospital in Yeji for preservation while the Yeji Police had subsequently detained a suspect in connection with the murder to aid in investigations.
Under the condition of anonymity, a source at the Yeji Police Station confirmed the occurrence to the GNA and stated that an investigation was ongoing.
