Wontumi likened the NPP’s failure to Manchester City’s buildup to winning a treble in the just concluded football season, as Benard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is well known.
He argues that, like Manchester City, the NPP will suffer several defeats as the season draws to a close.
Because of this, it is untrue to say that the NPP would face the wrath of Ghanaians at the 2024 elections.
In his opinion, the narrative of the NPP in 2024 will be similar to that of Manchester City in the recently concluded football season. He is known as Chairman Wontumi.
The UEFA, Premier League, and FA Cup were all won by Manchester City. If they weren’t defeated by any other team, please tell me. That has been the NPP’s defining characteristic when they lose: they retreat, rethink their approach, and emerge more determined.
According to him, the NPP’s loss in Assin South has no bearing on the fact that it is still in power and would ultimately prevail in the 2024 elections.
“John Mahama need to just remain silent. Does his election victory in Assin North make him the current President? President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is still in office. We are similar to the triple-winning Manchester City. They didn’t win all of their games, but they ultimately came out on top by taking home the medals, he stated on Movement TV.
