Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has explained why he would never forget late former Ningo-Prampram MP Enoch Teye (E.T) Mensah.

According to him, the late Council of State member was one among those who pushed him to run for the job of NDC General Secretary.

“Something he did, which I will never forget, is that he was part of the group of MPs who recommended me to become the NDC General Secretary when I was leaving Parliament after 12 years to pursue my PhD.

“ET Mensah, Doe Adjaho, Alban Bagbin, John Dramani Mahama, and a few others came together and suggested that the party needed a firebrand, and I did not have a pesewa at the time,” he recounted.

This was said in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM as he recounted cherished memories of paying last respects on Friday at the State House’s forecourt.

According to General Mosquito, the dead was more than simply a politician, but a militant who offered leadership and support to everybody.

Mr. Mensah died at the age of 77 following a period of illness.

General Mosquito, who had served as General Secretary for 17 years, resigned on Saturday, December 17, 2022, to run for Chairmanship.

He beat the outgoing Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.
