Ghana International Mall is a retail development located in Spintex Road Area, Greater Accra. The Mall is still under construction and is set to be completed soon, making it the biggest shopping center in West Africa.
Additionally, The International Mall displays its dominance with its excellent geographical location and operational scale. The planning takes a total area of 100,000 square meters and the total construction area is about 250,000 square meters, namely the commercial area and high-end residential buildings.
Who owns Ghana International Mall?
Ghana international mall is privately owned by Andrew and Ms. Cecilia Asamoah, In the early 2000s, Andrew Asamoah, his wife Cecilia, and their children left Geneva, Switzerland, where Asamoah was a director with the World Health Organisation.
Asamoah took early retirement and decided to return home with his family to their native Ghana. He started an Accra-based commercial property company called A&C Development, named after himself and his wife.
After initially intending to develop apartments and condos, Asamoah identified a gap in the market and shifted his focus to building Ghana’s first shopping center. The A&C Mall opened in Accra in 2005. “I bought the land where A&C Mall stands today, 10 years before I returned to Ghana,” he says.
As of now, the Mall is under construction and is estimated to cost $250 million and is expected to rank among the top ten largest malls in Africa once it is finished.
