Over the weekend in Lome, youth judokas representing Ghana won 11 Gold and two Silver medals in a competition that included Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, and the host nation Togo.
The young Ghanaian warriors were amazing to watch as they won all of the gold medals and winners’ rewards.
Ezekiel Dodoo, the judo coach for Ghana, reported that the nation performed admirably overall, taking home two bronze and eleven gold medals.
The winners of the gold medals were Waheed Dodoo, Dallas Awenyese, Lambert Fiazuku, Frank Terkpor, Daniel Quansah, Abdul Rahman Dodoo, Kelvin Deladem Amenuku, Elizabeth Oduro, Evelyn Dzato, Blessing Hammond, and Divina Dodoo.
The bronze medal winners were Eugene Boateng and Isaac Williams.
He announced that the African Championship, a competition that contributes towards the Olympic qualification process, would take place in La Cote d’Ivoire in June.
In addition to wishing the Judokas luck, he issued a warning about becoming complacent in the face of impending challenging matches.
Ghana sent a judoka to the previous Olympic Games in Tokyo.
