Former Member of Parliament for Evalue Agomoro Gwira Constituency has disputed assertions that the present NPP flagbearership contest is rooted in Dombo history and ancestry.
According to Catherine Afeku, there is no party custom that must be followed to make sure that every founding father’s ancestor serves the party in order for a Dombo to be the next flag bearer.
The widely publicized Dankwah-Busia-Dombo custom, which was recently interpreted to suggest Dr. Bawumia would head the NPP, is incorrect, according to Madam Afeku.
She contends that neither Dr. Bawumia nor any other contestant is a member of the Dombo tradition or a Dombo ancestor.
In Kumasi, Ghana, she chatted with Nana Boakye Yiadom of Luv FM.
However, the former member of parliament is making a comeback to challenge Kofi Arko Nokoe, the current member of the NDC, for the Evalue Agomoro Gwire seat, which she characterizes as a “waste of four years” during her first time.
