Adib Saani, a security expert, has expressed alarm over a horrific video showing a lady who has been recognised as a Fulani woman being sexually assaulted in public by some guys.
The woman is shown in the film, briefly half-naked before being entirely stripped of everything she is wearing, displaying her state of nakedness, as other guys surround her and beat and molest her.
However, Adib Saani responded to the video, which he said came from Zebilla in the Upper East Region, by saying that this is the sort of stuff that inspires terrorist narratives.
He explained that when behaviours like these are supported, terrorist organisations can easily use them as a means of infiltration into neighbourhoods and eventually into nations like Ghana.
“Giving credence to the terrorist narrative, the local youth’s action is extremely risky. These are something that terrorists adore because they can use them to justify their attacks.
“Terrorists are essentially getting a VIP invite thanks to this incident. The line must not be crossed by assaulting women or children.
Because this could lead to retaliation, he emphasised, “I am concerned as a security stakeholder.”
The woman is married with kids, according to Adib Saani, who also revealed that she recently moved with her family.
He emphasised that despite their best efforts, Ghana’s Fulani community leadership had been hunting for the woman ever since the tragedy.
In order to adequately identify and apprehend those responsible for this tragedy, the security expert urged the Ghana Police Service.
He said, “I call on the police to make an arrest as soon as possible and demonstrate that we are ruled by law and would not tolerate such acts of barbarity.
