Tragic Thunder Strike Claims Lives of Two Siblings in Begoro

Begoro, a community in the Fanteakwa North District of the Eastern Region, is in mourning following the tragic deaths of two siblings, a boy, and a girl. Selorm Bonah, 14, and Vivian Adovi, 16, were struck by lightning during a heavy downpour on Saturday evening while they were walking to pick some mangos in their house.

According to the Assemblyman of the Abase Electoral area, Beneh Benet, who confirmed the incident to DGN Online, the siblings were walking in the rain when the thunder struck them. The boy, Selorm Bonah, tragically died on the spot, while the girl, Vivian Adovi, was rushed by neighbours to the Begoro District Hospital. However, she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The entire community has been left in shock and sadness following the incident. The bodies of the siblings have been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation.

Thunderstorms are not uncommon in the Eastern Region during the rainy season, and residents are urged to take precautions during heavy downpours. In the wake of this tragedy, it is important for everyone to be vigilant and take necessary safety measures during thunderstorms.
