Sad news has hit the Bole community in the Savannah Region as two students from the Lassia Tuole Senior High School have lost their lives in a car crash at Gidabour near Sawla. The students were reportedly traveling back home for the Easter break when the accident occurred.

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, but it is believed that the driver might have tried to avoid potholes on the road due to the bad nature of the Wa-Sawla-Bole highway. This has been a source of concern for many motorists who have lamented about the poor condition of the road.

One of the deceased students is said to be the granddaughter of the Tingawura Abudu Sampson, a notable figure in the Bole Traditional Area. The news of the tragic accident has left the community in mourning, as they come to terms with the loss of these young lives.

The bodies of the two students have been deposited at the Bole Hospital for preservation. This is a difficult time for their families and loved ones, and we extend our deepest sympathies to them. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate through this heartbreaking loss.

It is unfortunate that the Wa-Sawla-Bole highway, which was awarded on contract in 2017, has been left uncompleted due to a lack of funds. This has led to a deteriorating road network that poses a risk to motorists and passengers alike. We urge the relevant authorities to take swift action to address this issue before more lives are lost.
