As the Guinness World Record mania sweeps Ghana, a video of a previous effort by several persons to break the Guinness World Record for the largest jollof serve has reappeared.

On December 28, 2019, at the Afrochella Music Festival in Accra, numerous cooks and assistants worked together to make around 3.02 tons of rice in one huge pot.

Their efforts were rewarded when the World Records Office officially acknowledged the attempt after the business saw a video on social media.

At the Afrochella performance in Accra, multiple chefs were seen stirring a big pot of Ghanaian jollof rice on social media.

On Sunday, the record-breaking business tweeted with the description, “A tasty attempt to break the record for the largest jollof rice today @Afrochella in Accra Ghana.”

Meanwhile, several Ghanaians have chosen to challenge themselves and strive to set new world records after being inspired by Afua Asantewaa’s successful Guinness World Record-breaking effort.

Chef Failatu Abdul Razak is one among them, and she is presently on her sixth day of constant cooking at Tamale’s Modern City Hotel.

She achieved her goal of 120 hours and beat the record for the longest cooking marathon, which is presently held by Alan Fisher (Ireland) with a time of 119 hours and 57 minutes.

Other Ghanaians have also announced their plans to attempt various records, such as the most lipstick applications in 30 seconds.
