Three people who were reportedly involved in a distressing event at the Akim Oda Palace in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region have been arrested by the Akyem Oda Divisional Police Command.
These people were allegedly spotted hurling stones during a community gathering at the palace, injuring two police officers and destroying a resident’s car.
Rev. Dr. Adane-Ameyaw, the Divisional Police Commander of Oda, verified the event to Adom News and voiced his worry over the rowdy behavior.
He issued a severe warning to the young in the municipality who participate in such activities in reaction to this act of violence and property destruction.
The police would not accept any violence or property damage during meetings at the palace, the Rev. Dr. Adane-Ameyaw emphasized. He made it quite clear that anyone who disturbs the peace and order would be detained and subject to the worst legal penalties.
The arrest of these people, the police believe, will act as a deterrence to others as the investigation into the problem continues.
