The President of the Ghana Drunkards Association (GDA), Moses Onyeh, popularly known as Dry Bone, has announced the suspension of the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, from the association for two weeks. This action was taken by the GDA in response to the President’s recent decision to increase taxes on alcoholic beverages.

Dry Bone disclosed this during an appearance on TV XYZ’s political program, “the gumbe show.” He noted that the President is a member of the Association, as he confirmed it during his inaugural speech. The Association felt betrayed by the President’s decision to increase taxes on alcohol, which has adversely affected the country’s drunkards.

The suspension will prevent the President from consuming any alcoholic beverage during the upcoming Easter festivities. According to Dry Bone, if the President fails to reverse the decision after the two-week suspension, his membership will be revoked by withdrawing his license.

Dry Bone mentioned that the Association has over 10.6 million members, who could have decided to either spoil their ballots in any election or embark on a demonstration. However, both options would have wasted the scarce resources of the country and undermined national security. Thus, the decision to suspend the proud member was made.

“Our 10.6 membership weighs more than any political party membership in Ghana, and if we decide to demonstrate or spoil ballots, it will go against the nation, so we suspend the President,” Dry Bone said.

The Ghana Drunkards Association is known for its passion for alcohol and advocating for the rights of its members. The Association has been very vocal about the recent increase in taxes on alcoholic beverages and has been calling on the government to reconsider its decision.
