Some roads in Ashaley Botwe in the Adenta constituency in the Greater Accra area have deep cracks, potholes, and degraded sections.
Every day, individual and commercial motorists meander their way to their destinations, exposing their cars to frequent breakdowns.
Drivers and residents at Peace Be Junction, an Ashaley Botwe neighborhood, expressed their displeasure on The People’s Forum, a section on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem on Thursday, saying the roads are not bendable when it rains.
Residents claim that the roads have been in disrepair for decades.
They stated that Member of Parliament (MP) Mohammed Adamu Ramadan pledged to fix the road only to abandon it after the elections.
Children will not be able to attend school due to strong rainfall in the region, according to residents. Heavy-duty trucks are not permitted to use the muddy roads.
According to the co-chairman of the local Landlords’ Association, all efforts to repair the road have been useless.
He stated that homeowners had helped to have the stretch graded with sand on multiple times.
As a result, they have urged the government to repair the roads and bridges as soon as possible.
