Following speculation that Taylor Swift “snubbed” Celine Dion on the Grammys stage, a photo emerged showing the two embracing after the ceremony.
Dion made her first Grammys appearance since announcing her Stiff Persons Syndrome diagnosis in 2022. She received a standing ovation while presenting the Album of the Year award. Swift, who made Grammys history with her fourth win in the category, did not acknowledge Dion during her acceptance speech but later embraced her offstage.
During the Grammys ceremony, when Celine Dion handed Taylor Swift her award, Swift did not look at or speak to her, simply taking the award before beginning her speech.
Swift did not mention or hug Dion, as is customary during award acceptance speeches. This led to speculation on social media about a possible snub.
However, a photo later surfaced showing the pair hugging backstage, suggesting there were no hard feelings between them.
“I don’t think Céline cared and they talked backstage afterwards,” a source told Page Six of the moment.
“But Céline was just gracious and happy to be there. Of course, the right thing would have been for Taylor to acknowledge her, like Adele did years ago.
“She wanted to show everyone that she’s doing alright. She has good days and bad days … it’s a painful disease, but it’s not a death sentence.
“She’s clearly capable of doing things and she wanted to show everyone that she’s back. She looked fantastic.
“The hope is that she will be able to perform.”
