An unidentified group of attackers shot and killed a police officer at the Tano Forest checkpoint.
Sergeant Titus Avoka Azasiyande, the deceased’s name, was discovered by a tipper truck driver on Thursday morning while he was traveling from Kasapin to Bediako.
The cop was found resting on his AK-47 weapon with an empty shell next to him after being tragically shot and killed in the back.
The driver called the police, who responded and transported the corpse to the Goaso morgue for preservation and an autopsy once they got on the site.
However, neither the attackers nor the cause of the murder have been identified by the authorities.
In the far-flung Ahafo Region, Sergeant Avoka Azasiyande was assigned to the Tano Forest Snap Check.
The untimely death of the officer highlights the inherent risks faced by those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving the public.
