A 22-year-old Okada rider who reportedly poisoned his girlfriend at Koransang in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern area is being sought by the police in Suhum.
Reports state that the dead, Matilda Dankwa, 17, who had just graduated from junior high school (JHS), and the okada rider, whose name has only been provided as Akooko, were dating.
The deceased who became pregnant for the okada rider allegedly refused to have the pregnancy terminated when the suspect asked her to do so, according to the local assemblyman.
On Monday, the suspect rode up on his motorcycle to get the dead, and moments afterwards, the deceased was discovered with probable foam seeping from her lips which is suspected to be poison.
The police who visited the crime scene to convey the body of the deceased to the Suhum Government hospital morgue have begun investigations to apprehend the suspect Akooko who is currently on the run.
