Stop the ignorance, Sammy Gyamfi said, as everyone joins the US Air Force as an Airman Basic before moving through the ranks.

Kwame Sam, the convener of the pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) Patriotic Action Group (PAG), has urged Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC’s national communications officer, to cease disparaging Bryan Acheampong, minister of food and agriculture, in his remarks.

After telling the public to ignore Bryan Acheampong’s “ludicrous tantrums,” Sammy Gyamfi said the following.

In response to Abetifi Lawmaker Bryan Acheampong’s earlier declaration that the NPP would not cede power to the NDC, Mr. Gyamfi stated that “Sovereignty resides in the people and not in a man who only served as a lone Airman Basic (the lowest enlisted rank in the United States Air Force immediately below airman) for about 2 years.

“By 2024, the majority of Ghana’s electorate will undoubtedly vote for change, and no one can thwart their desire.” It won’t be business as usual if Bryan and his ilk are motivated by the desire to escape punishment for the wrongdoing they committed during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-elections and the 2020 elections. Notice is served by this.”

The Patriotic Action, however, responded in a statement: “The recent comment made by Sammy Gyamfi to disparage Hon. Bryan Acheampong, our MP for Abetifi and Minister for Food and Agriculture, is not only factually false but also demonstrates the NDC’s inability to perform adequate research. We implore all Ghanaians to disregard this unjustified attack. Sammy Gyamfi and his supporters could use the following factual information, which we are going to offer: Everyone joins the US Air Force as an Airman Basic and advances through the ranks, as is well known. Sammy Gyamfi’s assertion that Hon. Bryan Acheampong was merely an Airman Basic—the lowest enlisted rank in the US Air Force that comes after airman—is therefore unfounded.

It has been established that the NDC’s initial charge against Hon. Bryan Acheampong—that he was not a member of the USA Air Force—was untrue. The NDC hasn’t issued a retraction or apologised for distributing false information, though.

“It’s crucial to remember that the NDC’s founder was just a flight lieutenant. The NDC should be aware of this information, but it appears that they are not proficient readers or researchers. We wonder why the NDC is so terrified of the name of Hon. Bryan Acheampong. Sammy Gyamfi and the NDC might be able to respond.

“To sum up, we provide Sammy Gyamfi and his inept NDC with this knowledge as a type of free schooling. Should the NDC try to do anything bad in this country, we, the Patriotic Action Group (PAG), would fight them tooth and nail.
