The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has been advised by the Patriotic Action Group (PAG) to desist from exhibiting his ignorance when commenting on issues.

In a statement issued by the group, they referred to comments made by Mr. Gyamfi about the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong as “factually incorrect and displays the NDC’s incompetence in conducting proper research.”

Mr. Gyamfi had earlier urged Ghanaians to ignore what he called the “ludicrous tantrums of Bryan Acheampong.” He also made reference to Acheampong’s tenure in the United States Air Force, calling him a “mere Airman Basic.”

However, PAG in their statement said that “everyone enters the US Air-force as an Airman Basic before rising through the ranks. Therefore, Sammy Gyamfi’s claim that Hon Bryan Acheampong was a mere Airman Basic (the lowest enlisted rank in the US Air-force immediately below airman) is borne out of ignorant.”

The group also accused the NDC of spreading misinformation about Acheampong and failing to retract or apologize for their false accusations.

“It is important to note that the founder of the NDC was a mere flight lieutenant. This fact should be common knowledge for the NDC, but it seems they lack basic reading and research skills,” the statement added.

The group concluded by warning the NDC against any attempt to cause trouble in the country, stating that they would face them “boot for boot” if they dared.

It is important for politicians to conduct proper research before making statements about their opponents. Ghanaians deserve to be informed with the truth and not just political propaganda.
