Spio-Garbrah thinks John Mahama should be president

John Dramani Mahama has been nominated as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the 2024 elections by Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, a former minister of business and industry.

To choose a flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for the 2018 elections, the NDC will hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13.

Dr. Spio-Garbrah claimed in a statement that former President Mahama was the finest candidate to guide the nation out of its current economic quagmire.

Dr. Spio-Garbrah believes that Mr. Mahama has a better chance than other flagbearer candidates to end the nation’s current economic crisis and provide relief for Ghanaians because of his political background.

The NDC leadership was also cautioned by Dr. Spio-Garbrah to implement novel and bold economic policies that would help to significantly alter the depressing global narrative of Ghana.

“To address the rapidly deteriorating economic conditions in our country caused by the failed Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, it is imperative that individuals and organisations, including the NDC, adopt creative and radical economic measures that will significantly alter the depressing global narrative about Ghana as it currently stands. Ghana needs to quickly and urgently rebrand in addition to receiving an IMF bailout, among many other factors of reform.

“Swallowed up by the black and brackish waters of our Galamsey Waterloo, the hope reflected in the words “Ghana Beyond Aid” has been dashed, the grandiose and expensive flights of fancy Imperial-style jets at the Presidency, “Large Hole in the Ground,” and a National Cathedral that is a major tourist attraction.
