Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has refuted rumors suggesting he and Euphoria star Zendaya have broken up. In a video obtained by TMZ, Holland responded bluntly to a paparazzi photographer’s inquiry about their relationship status while walking with a friend in Los Angeles on January 12.
When asked if he and Zendaya had broken up, Holland’s smile appeared more like a grimace, indicating his displeasure at being questioned about the matter.
“No. Absolutely not,” he answered before walking on.
Speculation about the relationship status of Tom Holland and Zendaya arose when Zendaya unfollowed everyone on Instagram, including Holland. Additionally, the couple hasn’t been photographed together in public for several months. However, Holland still follows Zendaya on Instagram, and sources revealed to TMZ that they spent New Year’s Eve together.
The couple has been notoriously private about their relationship, which gained attention in 2021 when they were seen showing affection in Los Angeles.
Rumors about their relationship began as early as 2017 when they played onscreen love interests Peter Parker and MJ in the Spider-Man films.
Speculation about the relationship status of Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky arose when they hadn’t posted about each other on social media and took separate overseas holidays. However, they responded by sharing affectionate footage from a family vacation in Fiji.
Similarly, concerns emerged about Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s relationship after a snippet of their conversation at the Golden Globes went viral. Fans and amateur lip-readers speculated that Krasinski was expressing a desire for a divorce to Blunt.
“I’ve watched this 500 times trying to convince myself he said something other than ‘divorce’,” one fan said when the video appear online.
“Did he say ‘I can’t wait to divorce?’” asked another.
“And she said ‘hey’ and he stated ‘I’m serious’.”
“I swear he’s saying ‘divorce’ but I want him to be saying ‘get through this’,” offered another.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2010 and share two daughters, are typically seen radiating happiness and affection on the red carpet. Hence, the rumors of a potential divorce caught some by surprise.
However, some believed that the conversation captured was about a trivial matter like the weather, rather than a significant relationship issue.
“You can hear her say, ‘It’s actually kinda chilly right now’,” one amateur lip reader suggested.
“And he responds, ‘I can’t wait to get indoors’.”
“’I can’t wait to get indoors’, it was really windy and cold,” another agreed.
“He says, ‘I can’t wait to get indoors’ and she says ‘same’,” a third concurred.
Once more, Blunt and Krasinski appeared together at the Critics Choice Awards, showcasing a united and affectionate demeanor, possibly in response to the circulating online rumors.
Body language expert Inbaal Honigen analyzed their interactions on the red carpet and assured that their relationship seemed harmonious and content.
“John and Emily stand like two people who are totally at ease with one another,” Honigen said.
“Her eyes are squeezed shut, which only happens in genuine laughter.”
When the “divorce” rumors started spreading online, the pair was stated to be perplexed by the conjecture.
“There are no issues with Emily and John,” a source told Us Weekly.
“They are absolutely not talking about divorce.
“They think the rumours are funny and ridiculous.”
