Shatta Wale has sparked yet another social media debate with a video of him earnestly praying for Sing-a-thon participant Afua Asantwewaa.
The Shatta Movement leader was photographed holding hands and praying with Afua Asantewaa in her inner space, where her performance is being held.
Shatta, who came in during her break period, bent before her, spoke some encouraging words, kissed and hugged her.
This was caught in video extracts from the event, which have since gone viral.
Netizens who have learned about the incident have praised Shatta for his concern and support for the candidate.
Others have claimed that it is really a publicity gimmick.
Meanwhile, a growing number of Ghanaian celebrities are flocking to Accra’s Akwaaba Village to demonstrate their unwavering support for Afua Asantewaa’s attempt to break and establish a new sing-a-thon record.
Sarkodie, Nana Ama McBrown, Sista Afia, Efya, Wendy Shay, Cina Soul, DKB, Salinko, Kuami Eugene, John Dumelo, and a slew of other celebrities have shown up to watch the continuing accomplishment.
On Monday, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia rushed the site to support Afua Asantewaa and encourage her to make history for Ghana.
She entered into the fourth day of the sing-a-thon and has so far done about 79 hours, which is more than half short of Sunil Waghmar’s 105-hour record.
