On April 8 and April 11, 2023, Senegal and Ghana’s senior women’s team, Black Queens, will square off in two international friendlies at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Due to the visiting team’s inability to reach Ghana, a match between the Black Queens and the Fennecs of Algeria that was to have taken place as part of their reconstruction mission was called off.

Coach Nora Hauptel, who was widely regarded as the pride of African football in the early 1990s, worked to bring back Ghana’s heyday at important competitions on both the continent and the international scene.

The two-legged match would provide the gaffer a chance to evaluate the Black Queens in advance of upcoming competitions.

In February 2023, Ghana triumphed in its final two exhibition games against Togo and Benin.

At the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, the Swiss football manager and 26 outstanding local and international players had already started to camp there.

The removal of Senegal from the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations will greatly benefit Ghana; as a result, a victory over Senegal would be very beneficial.
