The President of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, has expressed gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo as the next Chief Justice. The paramount chief praised the government for championing the empowerment of women in the country, noting that Justice Torkornoo’s nomination was not a surprise to the people of the Central Region.

Justice Torkornoo’s humble beginnings in the Gomoa and Effutu enclave of the Central Region were also highlighted, with the paramount chief saying her appointment is a testament to her hard work and selflessness. The government has consistently championed women’s rights and empowerment, with initiatives like the Free Senior High School policy, the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan, and the establishment of the Ghana EXIM Bank to provide financial assistance to women entrepreneurs.

In conclusion, the appointment of Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo as the new Chief Justice is a significant milestone for Ghana and a step in the right direction towards gender equality and women’s empowerment. The government’s efforts to empower women and promote gender equality in the country should be commended and supported.
