Afia Schwarzenegger, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Comedy,” has once again made a contentious assertion about finding the best way to convince the government to fix roads around the country.

The comedian asserts that the government won’t attend to essential requirements in a region, such as failing roads, until the member of parliament representing that area dies.

Her comments come in response to concerns that the continuing road improvements in the Kumawu constituency are being done so that the party may continue holding the seat after the local MP passed away.

Praying for your MP to pass away is now the quickest way to ensure that the roads in your district get fixed. You need to pray that your MP will be saved by the same God who saved my father. The only time both political parties contribute money to seats is when roads in your region are being fixed.

“That’s not all, you will be gifted with items like cloth, rice, and so on. God, I commit the MPs in both my hometown, Adansi Modema, and my area, Spintex, into my hands. Kindly do the needful. The roads in these areas are bad so pls do what you have to do,” she asserted.

The minister of roads and transportation, Kwasi Amoako-Attah, first dismissed concerns by saying that the timing of the current road building in the constituency was just a coincidence.

He added that the government had already granted the road contract prior to the tragic death of Philip Basoa, the constituency’s member of parliament.
