Police on manhunt for Somanya filling station robbers
Eight alleged armed robbers are being sought after by the Somanya Police Command for their attacks on the SP Gas Filling Station at Trom in the Yilo Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region area.
It is said that the suspects beat the attendants violently and fled with an undisclosed sum of money.
In an attempt to obtain information on the location of the daily sales, the armed men reportedly severely beaten the station’s pump employees.
The event on Wednesday is said to have lasted around ten minutes. But before they left the scene, the thieves smashed the CCTV system that was put in place at the station.
Meanwhile, the police who have invited the owner of the facility to help with investigations are also pleading with the general public to volunteer and provide information that will lead to the apprehension of the robbers.
