Police detain four individuals in the torture of a Fulani lady that was shown on a viral video

Four individuals have been detained, according to a press release from the Ghana Police Service, in connection with the brutal treatment of a woman that went viral.

Following a preliminary examination into the aforementioned video, the suspects were captured at Kupelga in the Upper East Region in the early hours of Tuesday, June 13, 2023, during a police intelligence operation.

According to the police, the suspects Awizore Amolt, Akolbila Asorwogo, Atibila Aladago, and Akolbila Ben are now being held in jail to help with the investigation into the arrest of further collaborators.

Parts of the news release said that “the suspects, Awizore Amolt, Akolbila Asorwogo, Atibila Aladago, and Akolbila Ben, were arrested in a police intelligence operation in the early hours of today, June 13, 2023, following a preliminary investigation into the said video.”

The victim will receive psychological assistance from a police clinical psychologist, according to the police, who also stated that plans have been made in this regard.

A Police clinical psychologist has been scheduled to give the victim psycho-social help, according to the statement. “Meanwhile, we are in contact with the victim and her family,” it said.

When the internet was first exposed to the viral video showing a lady being undressed and abused by numerous guys in the Zebilla neighbourhood in the Upper East Region, it is unknown.

The woman in the video is briefly seen in only her pants before being entirely undressed and exposed to the males who have gathered around her to beat and molestation her.
